Oversized bezel contains mechanical gearing that allows the watch to run without a battery, just like the originals! It can be hand-wound using the time-setting knob, but it also has an internal gyro that winds the watch for you as your hand moves. These "automatic" watches were a big improvement. Ours watch keeps track of hours, minutes, seconds, and the day of the month. Two deviations from the original version is the case is stainless steel to prevent corrosion, but strongly resembles nickel plating.
