The culmination of years of research and months of patterning and perfecting has yielded the perfect early 20th century bib overalls! A much-needed "missing-link" between 19th century overalls and 1930s and 40s overalls, which are all readily available elsewhere, this pair perfectly fills the gap for teens and 20s era. Suitable for wear by farmers, laborers, fishermen, mechanics and firemen/engineers on trains and traction engines, these overalls are not only correct in pattern, but meant to be put to use as well! Built out of a light, summer-weight denim for comfort, but with reinforced seams for maximum durability, these are made to be used, and be comfortable in warm weather while working hard!
Sizing is based on modern waist size. All sizes have extra long straps and inseam. Hem or roll to fit. (This is how they were sold historically as well.) We also left the "X" of the straps unsewn. This allows the wearer to adjust the crossover to the most comfortable location. You can easily secure the "X" with a few hand stitches, or machine sew a diamond pattern where they cross, but don't forget to cross them or they won't fit right!
These pair extremely well with our brown work shirt, cotton neckerchiefs, 8 panel cap, and Workingman's boots! Add an old lunch pail, and you'll be ready for any work!
Sizing and Fit:
Sizing is based on modern blue jean waist size. All sizes have extra long straps and inseam. Hem or roll to fit. (This is how they were sold historically as well.) We also left the "X" of the straps unseen so you can position it where most comfortable. This only takes a few stitches to do by hand, or you can machine stitch a diamond pattern. Don't forget to cross the straps, though, or they won't fit right!
